Entering Competitions

There are Three Main Types of Competition

1. Monthly Medals and Stablefords
2. Knock-out Competitions
3. Club Matches, Charity Events, Scrambles and Interclub Events.

There are also regular social golf rounds illustrated by the Saturday Morning Roll-up's.

Details of how to enter each format of play are listed below.

Players get different allowances of shots dependent upon the format of play, please click the link below to download the handicap allowance table from England Golf.

1. Entering Monthly Competitions.

All members are encouraged to attain a Handicap Index as that will facilitate opportunities to enter competitions (where handicap requirements are necessary) but it also allows members to track their own performance over time.

All members can enter the monthly Medal or Stableford Competitions but in order to win you will need to have an official handicap. If you do not have a handicap you can participate in the the event, and get a card marked towards your initial handicap, but you cannot win the competition. 5-day members with a handicap are welcome to take part in Stableford Competitions as they run across Fridays and Saturdays.

If you have a handicap and have already signed up for HowDidiDo then you can enter the monthly competitions by following the links below. Please note that you cannot sign up until one week in advance.

2. Entering Knock-out Competitions

A player does not need to have a handicap to enter the knock-out competitions, but will need to have a handicap by the start of the first round.
Details of the 2022 Knock-out Competitions can be found using the following link.

If you do not have a handicap but would like to enter, please contact:

3. Club Matches, Scrambles and Interclub Events

As a club, we would encourage members to consider signing-up for the club matches, scrambles and interclub events listed in the Club Diary.
This will help you meet other members to play fun and competitive golf.
It will also help members realise the social benefit from the friendly membership.

Joining Club Teams

Club Teams allows club members to register their interest to join squads for inter-club matches (which are mixed) or the ladies matches. By applying you are joining the squad and can then show your availability for specific matches. The captain will then choose the team from the members who have joined the squad.

Club Teams is also where you sign-up to take part in the Interclub Matches, Club Scrambles, the Ladies v Gents event, Champion of Champions and the Captain's Charity events.
